PASS Brothers and Sisters,
Serving as your National Secretary Treasurer for the past 6 years has been an honor and a privilege. I first ran for national office because I was passionate about serving our union and believed I was the best and most qualified person for the job. I believe this even more today. That is why I am seeking re-election to serve for another term.
Trust and Integrity matter. One of the responsibilities of the Secretary Treasurer is acting as the Chief Financial Officer for PASS. As such, I am entrusted with managing the union’s funds, and making sure that all income, expenses and investments are properly accounted for. I am proud that in each of the audits we have had in the last six years, our record is spotless. There has not been the slightest suggestion of impropriety.
That does not happen accidentally. It happens because we have the proper controls in place and we adhere to them. I continually strive to improve the financial process for PASS. Last year I revised our Travel Reimbursement Policy, to make it easier for members to submit for reimbursements while simultaneously tightening the existing controls.
Experience and Character matter. I did not venture into the role of Secretary Treasurer without proven experience serving our members. I am proud of my achievements as a local Contract Representative, Chapter President, National Legislative Committee member, Region I Assistant, Lead for the 2017 ATO Contract Team, and working internationally with IFATSEA and ICAO. It’s not just about stepping into a role, it’s about getting results. In each of these positions, I have a verifiable track record of success for PASS. Prior to becoming Secretary Treasurer, I was an Airways Transportation Systems Specialist (ATSS). I am proud of my work as an ATSS. I started at Miami Air Route Traffic Control Center, first in the Environmental Unit and then at the Systems Operations Center. I worked diligently and with determination to broadened my knowledge of the National Airspace System. I maintained and certified critical power, communication and surveillance systems before advancing to the National Operations Control Center and becoming a seasoned NAS Operations Manager (NOM). I am proud to have earned the respect and trust of my PASS brothers and sisters in supporting the most complex airspace in the world.
I have been a supporter of President Dave Spero since he was elected as a regional vice president and count him as a close friend. In the 21 years we have known each other, he has been a dynamic, effective leader. Under President Spero’s leadership, we have made great strides as a union. PASS has made its mark in the halls of Congress, in the Aviation community and in the AFL-CIO, the house of labor. Internally, we have improved Rep Training, with over 500 Reps trained in the last 3 years, a new Chapter training that was inaugurated last year, and a new communication studio that brings timely video messages directly to members. I am proud to serve alongside Dave and grateful for his support.
It is not about what one will say they accomplish. It is about following through and getting the job done. I am asking for your vote for National Secretary Treasurer. If re-elected I will continue to serve with the highest standard of integrity and trust. Count on it.
